Join the mile high club with Etihad Airways

I was going to post this yesterday but I didn't get around to it! So Etihad Airways just recently debuted its newest cabin, called The Residence, and it is probably the size of about 235347 economy seats.
Don't worry, it didn't take away any space from us plebeian passengers seated in second and third class, the new cabin has its own friggin’ deck. I watched the promotional video which stars the poor man's Nicole Kidman singer-songwriter Dannii Minogue and it's a bit long so I’m not going to include it in this blog post. Here are the promotional photos that Etihad has published though.

So I don't get it, this is where you allow your poor friend to sleep? In your LIVING ROOM??

But I heard that Etihad Airways tickets are expensive anyways so if you're going to treat yourself for a six hour flight from Abu Dhabi to London for more than $20,000, you might as well go all in. I mean I wouldn’t do it because what if I fall asleep and I don’t get the chance to press all the buttons?!

UPDATE: Forbes has just reported that Ben Schlapping, a blogger that shares his travel experiences on his website One Mile At a Time, has started a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to review Etihad's room suite. Participants can be rewarded with $1 "virtual high fives" to a $500 dinner in one of five locations across the globe. Schlapping has reviewed many airlines and as I'm typing this, has already raised $10, 218 in one day with 23 more days to go. I think that Schlapping can do it, but either way, good luck! And next time you do a review, maybe bring along a certain female blogger for a female perspective? ;)
